MARCH 2020

Follow the latest news from the Perry-Houston County Airport.
MARCH IS THE MONTH TO FLY!
Now that "wet February" has departed, spring is on the way, and we'll have an extra hour after the 8th to enjoy, let's get out and bore some holes in the sky.  On your next outing, take a picture or two and sent them to us.  We would love to print some pics of interesting places our PXE family visits.
AIRPORT AUTHORITY MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, MARCH 2, 2020

The monthly meeting of the Perry-Houston County Airport Authority is scheduled for Monday,March 2, at 4 pm at the Perry-Houston County Airport terminal.  The public is invited.

Red Sky in the Morning......
The old adage, "red sky in the morning, sailor take warning..." was true on this day in early February.  The rain just didn't seem to want to stop in the PXE area.  Now that March is here (hopefully sunny March), we'll be looking for all you rain-soaked pilots to be in the air!
Georgia Senator visits PXE
Kelly Loeffler, pictured with Dennis Speth and Jim Marquardt, made a stop at the Perry-Houston County Airport in February. The legislator was in Perry for the dedication of the new Perdue Arena in the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter.

NEW CUB ON THE BLOCK

Mitsubishi MU-2
A short visit by an MU-2 to PXE in February, topped the list of unusual aircraft to stop by the airport.  The slimmed-down turbo-prop cruses at around 350 mph with a range of 1750 miles. Probably a bit of overkill to fly over to the EAA breakfast at Airpark.
Parking at Perry Air
Construction on the north end of the airport is scheduled to be completed during the month of February.  A short road extension and a preliminary improvement on the new parking lot will alleviate the crowding on the access road to the Perry Air office.  And congratulations to  the school on their newly-acquired aircraft.

If not, and you would like to see it in the photo page, send us a digital picture and we'll post it as we update.  If you don't have a digital picture, let us know the next time you fly out of PXE and we'll snap one.

DO YOU KNOW????
                                             Aircraft Extremes

1.  The largest airplane ever built in the world is the ____________________.
2.  The smallest airplane (fixed-wing) is a bit controversial.  We'll list the top             4 that vie for the title.  Do you know any of them?
3.  The fastest aircraft in the world is the __________________.
4.  The heaviest aircraft ever built was the ______________________.
5.  And finally, what looks like an airplane, sounds like an airplane, acts somewhat like an airplane, but ISN"T an airplane?

The answers are on our website:  www.pxeairport.com/quiz
